The death of SFC Lance Vogeler brings the U.S. efforts in Afghanistan to the forefront. The issue is a top priority for Georgia congressman Jack Kingston.
Kingston was in congress when the United States made the decision to move into Afghanistan nine years ago. He was in Savannah Thursday and we asked him his thoughts as the U.S. begins it's 10th year of occupation in Afghanistan.
"We've been fighting it one year at a time now for ten years. We really need to bring this to a peak and whether it's a surge similar to what we did in Iraq, maybe we need to do even more in Afghanistan," Congressman Kingston said.
Congressman Kingston extends his condolences to the Vogeler family.
