We just found out that Congressman Kingston’s website won a 2006 Pollie Award from the American Association of Political Consultants.
What the heck is a “Pollie Award“? Good question.
Essentially the folks who have made political communication and strategy their life get locked in a room until they emerge with the cream-of-the-crop in each particular category. And in the category of U.S. House websites, we were one of them.
I guess that could explain why our website has received 1.6 million hits since October!
Another House Republican, Mike Pence, also won a Pollie Award. Rep. Pence is a strong conservative voice in the Republican Conference and he’s truly embracing some new (and old) media strategies to get his conservative message out.
Congratulations are in order to the team we work with (and bug almost daily with new ideas) at Rightclick Strategies who helped design and implement the Congressman’s vision for smarter web communications with his constituents and other interested parties.
And of course, we’re just getting started. Our next step is to kick it up a notch and truly revolutionize online communications for a public official. From Web 1.0 to 2.0, if you know what we mean.
