We look forward to working with you on legislation to address the boutique fuels challenge and reprioritize some $2 billion in oil and gas tax credits and spending. We applaud your call for a high level meeting with American auto manufacturers to discuss running our cars on something other than oil in the near future.

We would also urge you to convene an emergency high level summit with the American oil companies to discuss actions that can be taken today, and to remind them of their responsibility to invest recent record profits in expanding supplies, building new and expanded pipelines and refining capacity, and diversifying into new fuel sources for tomorrow? economy.
