Hi, I'm Virginia And I'm An Intern...

Washington, May 17 -

Hi, I'm Virginia, one of Mr. Kingston's interns. Today a few of the interns and I attended an event which introduced an environmentally-friendly car. It is just like the Prius which is already on the market, but this car is a bit different. Multiple congressmen showed up and talked about their support of our bill (HR 4409) which if passed would help start the mass produciton of these cars. The cars can get 100 miles to the gallon, which is amazing especially for those of us who do not have paying jobs. ;-) When calculated, the cost of one gallon of gas is $3.50 $0.75! Life-saving compared to the $3.50 we pay now. I was fortunate enough to ride around in the car with Mr. Kingston and some other congressmen, and with a bit of training, Mr. Kingston was able to get the car rolling. It was just like a normal car, except for the fact it plugs into the wall! We all took pictures and I videotaped the event. It was difficult battling the other reporters and cameras for the perfect shot but I think we succeeded. Here are a few pictures I took with the cars. Stay tuned for a video podcast of the event once we figure out how to upload everything! - Virginia UPDATE (4:53 PM): The always clever Suitably Flip weighs in on Congressman Kingston's interns participating on his blog. UPDATE (5:49 PM): We've uploaded more of the photos HERE. UPDATE (5/18/06 PM): Video is up. Enjoy.  simcox 480.jpgsimcox 300.jpg simcox 413.jpgsimcox 403.jpg
