Georgia Cares
Finding your way through the maze of Medicare insurance and prescription coverage can be very confusing, but GeorgiaCares can help.  GeorgiaCares is a program of the Department of Human Resources, Division of Aging Services and Area Agencies on Aging. Partners include pharmaceutical companies, local pharmacies, physicians, hospitals, state universities and other agencies. 

GeorgiaCares is Georgia’s State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).

• GeorgiaCares is not affiliated with any insurance company.

• GeorgiaCares counselors do not sell or solicit any type of insurance.

• GeorgiaCares counselors can help you:

  • Understand Medicare, Changes in Medicare, Medicare Summary Notices, Medigap, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Fraud, and Long Term Care insurance;
  • Select a prescription plan to meet your needs;
  • Sort through medical bills and assist in filing Medicare claims and appeals, prescription assistance applications and Medicare fraud reports;
  • Analyze Medicare Supplement and Long Term Care insurance policies.
  • Educate and assist consumers with Lifelong Planning concerns.
