Homeland Security

Since September 11, 2001, law enforcement officials across the country have taken great steps to ensure the safety of our communities, cities and ports. Congress has also passed legislation improving information sharing between agencies and federal and local first responders.

As home to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), the First District plays a key role in training those who serve on the front lines of protect the American homeland from attack.  FLTEC is an interagency law enforcement training organization for more than eighty agencies.  The center also provides services to state, local, and international law enforcement agencies.  FLETC is headquartered at Glynco, Georgia on the northwestern edge of Brunswick.  For more information on FLETC, click here.
