Education Reform

Education Reform

The future of America lies in our youth.  From enacting sound legislation to speaking to young people from across Georgia and our great Nation, I have made education a top priority throughout my career.

I believe there is a need for a well rounded education and accountability.  The challenge we face is finding a balance between testing accountability and curriculum viability.

I firmly believe that states have a better understanding of the demographics, unique challenges, and rate of improvement for individual school systems.  When it comes to a child's education, decisions should be left to those who know best how to make them: parents, local school districts, and states.  This is why I cosponsored H.R. 1539, the Academic Partnerships Lead Us to Success (A-PLUS) Act.  This bill would give power back to states allowing them to implement intiatives that each state individually develops to best meet the unique needs of their particular students.

As with any other issue of concern to you, I hope you'll take the time to let me know how you feel about this issue.  To find the best means to contact me, click here.
