Cap and Tax Survey

Speaker Pelosi is intent on passing her national energy tax which will slap a new tax on Americans everytime they fill up their gas tank or flip a light switch.  Her plan is to take America back to 1910 emissions levels.  Considering that the population of the United States was just 92 million in 1910 compared to an estimated 420 million in 2050, that will be no easy task.

Cap and Tax will slap a new tax on working families every time they fill up their gas tank or flip on a light switch.  Utility bills are expected to go up as much as 50% and fuel costs are estimated to increase by 77 cents for gasoline and 88 cents for diesel.  The Heritage Foundation estimates that this will cost families an average of $3,000 per year.

While it is being portrayed as necessary to address global warming, the legislation will do little to that end.  Businesses driven out of America by increased costs will relocated to countries like China and India with much less stringent environmental regulations.  Already, Chinese emissions growth alone equals the total yearly output of Germany - can you imagine where it will go as businesses are driven from America?
